Students must be admitted both to one of the departmental programs and to the Graduate School to enroll as a degree student in journalism or public relations. An overall GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale is required for admission to the Graduate School. Only rarely will that admission requirement be waived. An undergraduate grade point average of 3.0/4.0 is required for full admission to the Department of Journalism. Those applicants with a grade point average below 3.0/4.0 will be required to submit GRE scores for admission consideration.
